Can flight training classes be completed in fewer than 7 long semesters (fall and spring)?
No. The 16 weeks within each semester are essential to covering all instruction and related materials for each flight training class. The sequencing of flight classes over the seven semesters is critical to ensuring the required knowledge and skills are acquired before beginning the next semester of more advanced flight instruction.
-
How many students are accepted into the program each year?
Forty(40) students are accepted annually. This number is subject to change.
-
Do I need to live on campus for the Aviation program?
New freshmen under the age of 20 (by September 1st for fall admission) with fewer than 30 semester credit hours are required to live in on-campus university housing. The only exception is if they qualify for an exemption outlined in the housing contract. All students who graduated from high school within the preceding 12 months of the semester of their admission are required to live on campus (regardless of the number of credits they may have accumulated prior to attending TXST).
