Burd-Cook-Springer Scholarship
Alumni, friends, colleagues, organizations contributed to the Organization, Workforce, & Leadership Studies (OWLS) program to sustain the Burd-Cook-Springer Scholarship to award current and transfer students based on their cumulative GPA.
Patricia S. Davis Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship supports non-traditional students or those with family dependents. Patricia Davis received her BS in Art and Education in 1954 from Sam Houston University and earned her master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Southwest Texas State (now TXST). In 1955, she earned her Texas Teacher’s Certificate and taught English and Art at Brazosport High School before entering the army. She enlisted in Officer Basic Training in 1959 and served active-duty tours with the Public Affairs Division, US Army Europe, stationed in Heidelberg, Germany and with the Army Security Agency, stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. Lt. Col. (Ret.) Patricia Davis served in the Army for 20 years, earning many awards including the prestigious Army Commendation Medal, and was one of few women of her generation to achieve the rank of Lt. Colonel. During her retirement, she worked as a counselor, administrator, writer, and editor. She was a great storyteller, loyal friend, and dedicated philanthropist.
Timothy William Reese Memorial Endowed Scholarship
In memory of Timothy William Reese (deceased on December 28, 2001), Claudette Reese, his wife, established the Timothy William Reese Memorial Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship will honor Timothy William Reese by awarding an undergraduate scholarship to a student pursuing a BAAS degree with an emphasis on business.
Melvin Weathersby Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship honors the memory of Melvin Weathersby (1937-2015), a long-time faculty member and advisor in the Department of Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies. The scholarship assists students pursuing the BAAS, MAIS/MSIS, or MEd degree.

Scholarships will typically apply to the Fall semester, but there will be occasional exceptions.
